Franz Bauer discovers the Nucleus in 1802
Little progress was made for almost a century: in 1802 the nucleus was first seen by Franz Bauer (and later described in more detail – and named – by Scotsman Robert Brown). Neither man suspected that the nucleus was of great significance, and to be found in almost all types of cell.
