Find a profitable niche is essential if you want to make money in the long run.
To succeed, the first element is to know the difference between a market of a niche market.
A niche market, according to Wikipedia is:
A small market segment (in terms of customers or products). The number of players on the supply side is limited, but the niche is considered practical, because of the uncompetitive structure of its market. The request must be in this case sufficient to maintain the profitability.
For example, the "weight loss" is a market, while the "weight loss after pregnancy" is a niche.
Competition is much smaller:
- Weight Loss Dukan: 26,900 results on Google
- Weight Loss: 734,000 results on Google
Just as the number of potential customers (based on keyword generator Google AdWords):
- Weight Loss Dukan: 720 monthly searches
- Weight Loss: 110,000 monthly searches
What indicators should be considered?
If I take the definition of a niche, it must not have strong competition, but the application must be sufficient to earn money over the long term.
A quick way to determine the number of potential competitors is to type a keyword in quotation marks. This allows targeting only sites with direct relevance to your keyword.
Know the number of monthly searches, you can use a tool provided by Google. Indicate in the search engine:
Keyword generator
(It may need to create an Adwords account, it's free.)
How have ideas of niches?
Again, Google offers a very handy tool to give you ideas in under 5 seconds, this is the tool:
Google Suggestions
When typing, Google Suggest returns search terms based on the research activities of other users.
Here is the method I use:
- I said my market
- Google suggests to me several niches
The market for "stop smoking", here are two examples of possible niches:
- Stop smoking without gaining weight
- Stop smoking by hypnosis
Using different tools offered by Google, you will manage to quickly find high-demand niche without too much competition.
